On October 1, 2012, BFIA leaders will target 5,000 voters via phone banking and canvassing in an effort to resurge voting participation in Birmingham and restore voting power for the Birmingham community.
On May 8, 2012, hundreds of members from Faith in Action congregations across the city came together to lift an organized faith voice in response to use of mace on children in the public schools, and the cycle of debt caused by payday lenders.
In a continue effort to seek statewide and local regulations on the predatory loan industry, BFIA clergy held a press conference on Green Springs Highway, one of the most saturated payday loan areas in Alabama.
